The Compound
For now, however, Mirador felt empty. The compound was surrounded by tall white plastered walls, and monitored by a security system. The only immediately visible threat was the presence of a man swinging lethargically in a distant hammock. "Is he with you?" Soros asked, a little nervously, as the man got up and began to approach, apparently intent on joining our alfresco meal. Only when the man came within ten feet or so did Soros recognize him -- he was the local tennis pro, and he had come to play a game with Soros, who is a fiercely competitive player, on the wrong day.
