I am reading Life on the Mississippi by Mark Twain about his years as a steamboat pilot. It was a treacherous business and shares much in common with trading bonds.

Mark Twain was notorious for being a big loser in trading. He lost a fortune trading the futures of his day.

note: he should have gone with Ann (Julie Adams) .. the one he got stuck with at the end is a nut(and the cause of most of the problems in the first place).
